The Museum of Found Objects: Toronto

$35.00

The Museum of Found Objects is a project initiated by artists Sameer Farooq (Canada) and Mirjam Linschooten (Netherlands/France). In response to the AGO exhibition Maharaja: The Splendour of India’s Royal Courts, their goal was to cleverly update the colonial exhibition with contemporary, everyday objects from South Asian communities across Toronto. The result was an installation and bookwork of hundreds of objects which drew lines between itself and the neighboring exhibition. On the last day of the show, visitors were invited to “Loot the Museum” freeing the objects and releasing them back into the city.
