A New Path to the Waterfall

$35.00

Over the course of the 2017-2018 school year, MaryAnn Persoon’s grade 6/7 class engaged in five projects created and led by six Vancouver-based artists; Justine A. Chambers, Elisa Ferrari, Hannah Jickling, Carmen Papalia, Helen Reed and T’uy’t’tanat Cease Wyss. The project was conceived to open up new ways for the students to engage with art and the wider world while re-shaping the ways in which we consider contemporary art, gallery spaces and public schools. This limited edition volume of printed pieces culminates the year-long collaborative art project A New Path to the Waterfall. Collected in this volume are the following pieces: The Herbarium Project T’uy’t’tant Cease Wyss and the students featuring texts by T’uy’t’tant Cease Wyss and Harrell Fletcher the sound of a cactus being touched by a raindrop Elisa Ferrari and the students Open Access Is… Carmen Papalia and the students a mild-skunkish and sweet potato sign, Hannah Jickling, Helen read and the students The Intersectors, Justine A. Chambers and the students Plus A New Path to the Waterfall, a culminating publication featuring images of each project, quotes from the students as well as an interview with Harrell Fletcher, Justine A.
