Join us for an artist talk with recent WEDGE resident Esteban Pérez. Esteban will offer an overview of his recent work, including the projects he initiated during and since his time in residence with CAG and Ground Floor.
Biography
Esteban Pérez (b. 1992 in Quito, Ecuador) graduated from Emily Carr University of Art + Design with an MFA degree in 2021. Recent and forthcoming presentations of his work include the New York Latin American Art Triennial (2022); The Polygon, Vancouver (2021); Libby Leshgold Gallery, Vancouver (2021); and Más Arte, Quito (2019). In 2021, he was an artist in residence at the Contemporary Art Gallery, Vancouver, and at the Similkameen Studio Residency organized by Griffin Arts Projects. In 2017, he was selected for the Premio Brasil–Arte Emergente (CAC), an award funded by the Brazilian embassy in Quito for the promotion of emerging artists. He was also the recipient of the 2020 Audain Travel Award.
