One Saturday each month, CAG invites a guest host to lead walkthroughs of our current exhibitions, offering their insights and response to the works on view. In May, we welcome Daina Warren to speak on the work of Lindsay McIntyre.

Biography
Daina Warren is a contemporary curator and artist. She is a member of the Montana Cree Nation in Maskwacis (Bear Hills), Alberta. Her interest in curating Aboriginal art and working with Indigenous artists is at the forefront of her research. Over the past twenty-five years, Warren has worked in programming roles at institutions such as grunt gallery, National Gallery of Canada, Urban Shaman Contemporary Aboriginal Art, and most recently the Institute of American Indian Arts. She was elected as one of four Indigenous women curators in the 2015 Asia-Pacific Visual Arts Delegation to participate in the First Nations Curators Exchange at the 8th Asia-Pacific Triennial in Brisbane, Australia. She was also awarded the 2022 Manitoba Arts Award of Distinction. She is currently Executive Director, Indigenous Initiatives at Emily Carr University.
