### Biography
Douglas Watt (b. 1990, St. Catharines) is an artist living and working in Vancouver's Davie Village on the unceded territories of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), and səlilwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations. He holds a BA (Art History) from Carleton University, Ottawa; an MFA from Simon Fraser University, Vancouver; and was a visiting student in Criticism & Curatorial Practice at OCAD University, Toronto. He has presented solo exhibitions at Unit 17, Vancouver (2019), Tara Downs, New York (2021), and Pumice Raft, Toronto (2024). His work has been featured in Artforum and BlackFlash Magazine. Watt co-edits the publication *Porthole* with Hamish Hardie.

We are pleased to announce our latest installment of CAG Reads, a book club where artists invite us to read alongside them. Each month an artist proposes text for our collective reading pleasure, culminating in a virtual hangout where the artist leads a wide-ranging discussion grounded in their chosen reading material. 

This month, CAG Reads will be hosted by Douglas Watt. Douglas has chosen to read Derek McCormack’s satiric novella *Castle Faggot* (2020). 

Douglas Watt is an artist living and working in Vancouver's Davie Village on the unceded territories of the Musqueam, Squamish and Tsleil-Waututh people. He received a BA in Art History from Carleton University, and studied Criticism & Curatorial Practice at OCAD University, Toronto. He is currently pursuing his Master's of Fine Art in Interdisciplinary Arts from Simon Fraser University. Recent solo exhibitions include *Stunning Evidence*, Unit 17, Vancouver (2020) and *Deep End Epiphany*, Downs & Ross, New York (2021). Most recently, he was included in *Some say the soul is made of wind*, Downs & Ross, New York (2021); *Spirit Off*, Yaby, Madrid (2021); and *Infinity Ball* with Marisa Kriangwiwat Holmes, Unit 17, Vancouver (2022).
